MTsN 9 Sleman memiliki beragam ekstrakurikuler unggulan yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan minat, bakat, dan potensi siswa dalam berbagai bidang. Berikut adalah beberapa ekstrakurikuler yang ada di MTsN 9 Sleman:
1. Pramuka
Ekstrakurikuler Pramuka bertujuan untuk membentuk karakter siswa yang mandiri, disiplin, dan bertanggung jawab melalui kegiatan-kegiatan kepanduan yang menarik dan mendidik.
2. Komputer
Ekstrakurikuler Komputer fokus pada pengembangan keterampilan siswa dalam teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, termasuk dasar-dasar Microsoft Office dan pemrograman dasar.
3. Karya Ilmiah Remaja (KIR) atau Riset
Ekstrakurikuler KIR atau Riset mengajarkan siswa cara melakukan penelitian ilmiah, menyusun karya ilmiah, dan mempresentasikan hasil penelitian mereka dengan baik.
4. Taekwondo
Ekstrakurikuler Taekwondo melatih siswa dalam seni bela diri Taekwondo, meningkatkan kebugaran fisik, disiplin, dan kepercayaan diri melalui latihan rutin dan kompetisi.
5. Futsal
Ekstrakurikuler Futsal berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan bermain futsal, meningkatkan kebugaran fisik, dan membentuk kerja sama tim yang solid.
6. Kaligrafi
Ekstrakurikuler Kaligrafi memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan menulis indah dengan huruf Arab, meningkatkan ketelitian, dan mengapresiasi seni kaligrafi.
7. Robotik
Ekstrakurikuler Robotik mengajarkan siswa cara merancang, membangun, dan memprogram robot, serta menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif.
8. BTAQ (Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an)
Ekstrakurikuler BTAQ bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca dan menulis Al-Qur’an dengan tajwid yang benar, serta memahami isi kandungannya.
9. Hadroh
Ekstrakurikuler Hadroh melatih siswa dalam seni musik Islami, khususnya hadroh, untuk mengembangkan keterampilan bermusik dan memperdalam kecintaan terhadap budaya Islam.
10. Voli
Ekstrakurikuler Voli fokus pada pengembangan keterampilan bermain bola voli, meningkatkan kebugaran fisik, serta membentuk karakter sportif dan bertanggung jawab.
